Attendees will gain insights from experts dedicated to promoting inclusive and accessible approaches to parenting and pregnancy for disabled people.\n\nSpeakers and Facilitators:\n\nDr. Hilary Brown (Facilitator)\nHilary Brown\, PhD\, is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto\, with appointments in the Department of Health & Society and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She is also cross-appointed to the Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and serves as an Adjunct Scientist at Women’s College Hospital and ICES. Dr. Brown holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Disability & Reproductive Health. Her research explores maternal and child health across the life course\, focusing on populations with disabilities and chronic conditions.\n\nWendy Porch (Speaker) and Rebecca Wood (Speaker)\nWendy Porch is the Executive Director of the Centre for Independent Living in Toronto (CILT) and a parent with a disability. Rebecca Wood is the coordinator of the Parenting with a Disability Network (PDN)\, a cross-disability program at CILT supporting parents and prospective parents with disabilities in Toronto and the GTA. The PDN provides opportunities for networking\, peer support\, education\, and information-sharing. Rooted in an inclusive and anti-oppressive framework\, the PDN recognizes parents with disabilities as experts in their own needs and works to connect them with resources\, programs\, and services to meet the needs of their families.\n\nDr. Anne Berndl (Speaker)\nDr. Anne Berndl is the founder and director of the Accessible Care Pregnancy Clinic\, the first clinic in North America dedicated to providing pregnancy and birth care for people with physical disabilities. She is a maternal-fetal-medicine specialist at Sunnybrook Hospital\, associate professor at the University of Toronto\, and an associate scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. Dr. Berndl is a leader in advancing research and care for disabled people navigating pregnancy\, focusing on personalized and condition-specific approaches.\n

DESCRIPTION:Disabled Writers’ Drop-In\nThis monthly virtual meet up is a chance for a cross-disability group of writers to connect and write in community. Beginners and experienced writer’s are welcome! This is a chance to spend an hour together to make some room for our writing.\nWhether you use voice to text\, a pen and paper\, a brailler\, typing or bringing someone with you to transcribe when writing\, all methods of playing with words are welcome!\n\nThis program occurs the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm-3pm.\n Each Drop-In Includes:\n -Opening go around sharing the successes and challenges of our writing this month\n -20-25 minutes of writing time together. DESCRIPTION:Disabled Writers’ Drop-In\nThis monthly virtual meet up is a chance for a cross-disability group of writers to connect and write in community. Beginners and experienced writer’s are welcome! This is a chance to spend an hour together to make some room for our writing.\nWhether you use voice to text\, a pen and paper\, a brailler\, typing or bringing someone with you to transcribe when writing\, all methods of playing with words are welcome!\n\nThis program occurs the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm-3pm.\n Each Drop-In Includes:\n -Opening go around sharing the successes and challenges of our writing this month\n -20-25 minutes of writing time together.
