Foundations of Disability Inclusion (public workshop)

This public offering of the Foundations of Disability Inclusion workshop is a 2-hour virtual event in English over Zoom where you can gain a better understanding of disability and access as integral to effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work, facilitated by disabled and Deaf educators with lived experience.  

Learning Objectives include: 

1. Recognize disability as part of human diversity 
2. Understand Independent Living as a fundamental shift in society 
3. Develop a common understanding of disability frameworks including disability justice 
4. Explore ways to actively practice access and inclusion to dismantle ableism 

Take this workshop if you:  

• Reside in or work in Ontario 

• Are interested as an individual and not together as an organization  

• New staff at an organization that has taken the main workshop before  

• Have taken the main workshop before and would like a refresher  

• Would like to learn about disability inclusion and access and how to cultivate an effective EDI culture

The workshop fee is being offered at a sliding scale to encourage individuals to decide for themselves how much they can contribute and consider accommodating as many as possible to access this workshop.
