The best defense against osteoporosis is density. There is an increased risk for people living with SCI to develop this disease. A lively presentation will provide practical knowledge on what can be done to prevent osteoporosis, minimize complications due to this disease, and continue to live an optimal lifestyle.
SPEAKER: Dr. Cathy Craven, MD, FRCPC, is a clinician scientist, physiatrist and Manager of the Bone Density Lab in Toronto Rehab’s Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Program. Her areas of research expertise are the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis after SCI and the impact of exercise interventions on wellness in persons with SCI.
