The Centre for Independent Living’s Peer Support/Volunteer Coordinator, Nancy Barry, is quoted in Saturday’s Toronto Star article, “Disabled lose out on medical care.”
CILT is partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society, Mount Sinai Hospital’s Koffler Breast Centre, and the University of Toronto’s faculty of nursing to examine the barriers women with disabilities face when attempting to access the medical system.
The Anne Johnston Health Station and Education Wife Assault are also involved in this project.
