PARK CITY, Utah – Chris Williamson of Markham, Ont., and Arly Fogarty of Montreal won gold in the men’s and women’s giant slalom respectively on Saturday for the second straight day at a Nor-Am Cup alpine skiing competition for skiers with a disability. In the men’s standing competition, Williamson, a visually impaired skier, and his guide A.J. Brown of Peterborough, Ont., won the two-run race in decisive fashion. This is the first competition that Williamson and Brown have skied together. Matt Hallat of Coquitlam, B.C., was sixth and Morgan Perrin of Vancouver was seventh. Both improved a spot on Friday’s result. In the women’s standing race, Fogarty was the winner for the second straight day and for the third time this season. Kathleen Forestell of Ottawa was fifth to move up one position from Friday. Andrea Dziewior of Nanaimo, B.C., took 10th spot. Brad Lennea of Whistler, B.C., did not finish his second run in the men’s sit-ski race. “Everyone skied much stronger today,” said Canadian coach Leslie Clarke. “You could tell everyone was more confident with a few races under their belt on this course. They were less tentative.”
