Bloorview Kids Rehab is offering a Leader in Training Program starting this Summer. This new program is generously supported by CapitalOne.
The Leader in Training program offers a combination of education and supported work experience. It is designed to introduce teens to the world of work. Through early work experiences we develop critical life skills, grow personally and explore our future career options. Can you help us?? We are look for adults living with a disability who have experience in the world of work to:
- Participate in one of two panel discussion groups:
- At our first Parent Session: Wednesday, June 27th (approx. 7:00 p.m.)
- For the youth participants: Thursday, July 12th (approx. 10:30 a.m.)

Additional information about the Leader in Training Program:
The LIT program is for youth with disabilities who are:
- 16-20 years old (and returning to High School in September)
- motivated to work on goals related to skill development for employment
Participating youth will:
- Set personal goals for their work experience
- Get education on specific job readiness topics
- Work with Bloorview Therapeutic Recreation staff to run Summer recreation programs (for Bloorview inpatients)
- Participate in peer discussions
- Connect with mentors
- Make a personal plan for next steps (on program completion)
We are also planning Information Sessions/Discussion Groups for parents.
