The Centre for Independent Living in Toronto is looking for a Direct Funding Resource Person to work with the Self-Managed Attendant Services; Direct Funding Program.
The Direct Funding (DF) Program provides funds to individuals with disabilities allowing them to recruit and hire attendants to assist them with activities of daily living. The Direct Funding Resource Person will provide information to applicants and existing participants about the Program, employment legislation, budget information as well as general information about other disability-related subjects. This position requires someone with imagination and excellent communication skills, comfortable working in a team environment with MS Word and Excel; experience in MS Access is an asset. Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, payroll and related financial issues would also be beneficial in this role since he/she will be explaining to participants a variety of budgeting and financial matters.
As an individual who uses attendant services, he/she should be familiar with the variety of personnel issues that can come up when dealing with attendants.
