Awarded The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal TORONTO—The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was presented to Meenu Sikand, at a private and intimate ceremony on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Centre for Independent Living Toronto’s headquarters in downtown Toronto. Ontario Senator Nancy Ruth presided over this ceremony honouring Ms. Sikand’s remarkable achievement and contribution to Canada and to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. Hon. Lt. Col Hari Panday, OHRC Barbara Hall , Asst. Consulate General Mrs. Charandassi, DF Manager Ian Parker, CILT Vice-chair Mary Louise Dickson were among the special guests who joined the award ceremony hosted by CILT.
