The creation of the Panel was announced by the Government of Canada in Economic Action Plan 2012. Reporting to the Minister of Finance, the Honourable James Flaherty, and the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, the Honourable Diane Finley, the Panel’s mandate is to identify successes and best practices in the employment of persons with disabilities as well as the barriers and disincentives employers face.
The Panel’s online consultations recently started and will be used to gather information from Canadian, private sector employers to better understand their experiences in employing persons with disabilities.
