Moving On is a documentary program that tells stories about people with disabilities who are developing their own ways to live more independently.
People with disabilities are seldom seen or heard in the mainstream media. Moving On presents them in all their diversity: at work, receiving and dispensing healthcare, using and developing technology, forging relationships, producing art and entertainment, and playing sports. The people seen in our programs are neither victims nor superheroes, but human beings striving to live as full a life as possible. By their example, the people who appear on Moving On challenge stereotypes that prop up the physical and attitudinal barriers that limit their full inclusion in Canadian society.
We are presently working on a story about adoptive parents with disabilities and would like to speak with anyone who has gone through, or currently going through the adoption process. If you would like to share your story with us please contact Joanne Smith at 416.205.5075 or joanne_smith@cbc.ca .
