Seeks a limited number of newcomers with disabilities and service providers for its “Untold Stories” project.
Newcomers with disabilities experience a number of unique barriers. The passing of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in 2005 provides us with the opportunity to learn, reflect, discuss, and implement inclusive and accessible services for all newcomers with disabilities. While the needs of newcomers with disabilities are the same as all newcomers; the barriers to accessing services are different.
Service Providers: If you currently support newcomers with disabilities, we want to hear from you!
Newcomers with Disabilities: If you or your family member have a developmental/intellectual, hearing, learning, physical, psychiatric or visual disability and would like to share your migration story in a 60 to 90 minute interview, we want to hear from you.
