Healthy, Active Living – A Way of Life for Everyone at Any Age and Any Ability Level
This free public evening event will emphasize strategies to overcome barriers and empower individuals with a physical disability to lead richer more independent active lives by becoming involved in physical activity and sport.
- Introduction of all types of sports available from an early participation to all levels
- Presentations by two paralympic athletes:
Irene Van Eenoo, basketball athlete who competed in Barcelona and Seoul Paralympic Games. Clayton Gerein, wheelchair racer who has won 7 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in the last 5 paralympic games that he participated in. - Dr. Gaétan Tardif, Vice President Patient Care & Chief Medical Officer, Toronto Rehab. He will discuss sportsmedicine and his involvement with the Paralympics as Chief Medical Officer.
