WHAT: In partnership with the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA), hosting two focus groups dedicated to people with disabilities from racialized communities as part of the Intohealth – Healthy Communities Partnership. Intohealth is developing strategies to align with the new Ministry of Health Promotion Ontario Health Communities Fund. This includes developing a community picture to inform the decision making of the Intohealth – Healthy Communities Partnership. Thus we are reaching out to our community members to ensure that their voices are appropriately represented. This information would assist in identifying priority populations/communities and issues for community engagement, partnership development, community mobilization and policy change. Topics of interest include:
Ontario Healthy Communities Fund: Six Areas of Focus
*Healthy Eating/ Food Security Injury Prevention/Safe Environments
*Physical Activity & Recreation; Active Transportation Prevention of Substance and/or Alcohol Misuse
*Prevention of Tobacco Use/Exposure Mental Health
*Overaching Components/Determinants (identified by Intohealth partners:
*Power Equity Income Security
