The below is a recruitment call posted on behalf of the University of Toronto – Physical Care Place for roundtable discussions.
Purpose:
The Collective Futures Roundtable brings together Black and racialized immigrants with disabilities, along with community partners, researchers, and policymakers, to reflect on how health and support systems have changed since COVID-19 and what still needs to shift as we plan for future public health emergencies.
Grounded in ongoing research led by Dr. Chavon Niles, the roundtable centres storytelling and dialogue to surface what people experienced, what was missed, and what must change to build more responsive and culturally grounded systems.
Our Goals:
- Reflect on what has changed in health and support systems since COVID-19, and where gaps still remain
- Identify barriers and opportunities to improve access, coordination, and policy responses
- Build a shared understanding of what needs to change to support more inclusive and responsive public health planning
