Nurturing Assistance Information Session

Nurturing Assistance refers to additional attendant hours that can be accessed by parents with physical disabilities that qualify for Attendant Services.

Presenters from the Attendant Services Application Centre and the Direct Funding program as well as parents using Nurturing Assistance will answer the questions:

  • What is Nurturing Assistance (NA)?
  • How do you access NA through Direct Funding?
  • How do you apply for NA through ASAC?
  • How do you access NA through Attendant Service providers?

When: Wed Nov 10, 2021 6-7:30

Where: Over Zoom (please register to receive the link)

Deadline to Register: Sunday November 7th

Please feel free to submit further questions when you register. Let us know about any accommodation or Zoom support needs when you register for the event.  ASL interpretation will be provided if the need is confirmed by the registration deadline. Automatic closed captions will be turned on. Participants can join by phone if necessary.

Surveys on Accessibility and Employment

CaféTO survey on Accessibility

The City of Toronto is currently reviewing the CaféTO program and want to better understand any program barriers and the effects on residents and visitors.

This survey is targeted to people in Toronto who identify as having a disability and/or who are impacted by barriers specifically related to the CaféTO program. The survey is currently live and will be open until October 4, 2021.

Ontario Courts Accessibility Committee (OCAC) Survey

OCAC is conducting a survey to gather information on the current state of accessibility in Ontario courts. This survey is targeted at persons who have experience attending court either as a person with a disability themselves or supporting a person with a disability.

Disability Inclusion Action Plan

The government of Canada sent out a memo regarding engagement on a Disability Inclusion Action Plan. This plan addresses the topic of why inclusion is necessary, what the plan aims to do, and a survey for feedback.

Information Resources for Voting in the Federal Election for September 20th, 2021

Published: August 20, 2021

With the federal election fast approaching on September 20th, 2021, CILT has put together a number of resources pertaining to if individuals were interested in casting their ballots by mail. Your local Elections Canada office must receive your completed online or in-person special ballot application by the deadline of Tuesday, September 14, 6:00 p.m. local time. Your ballot must be returned by election day on Monday September 20, 2021.

There may be a number of barriers with the online vote-by-mail application process, so please refer to our hyperlinked resources for troubleshooting options.
